About
Meet Artist Kelly Mercer
The Miraculous Process
About the artist: Kellylynn has always carried a quiet reverence for creativity. From early childhood, she felt most at home with a pencil or brush in hand. Although self‑taught, she drew inspiration from Canadian wildlife artist Robert Bateman and American wildlife artist John Banovich, whose paintings honored animals and the landscapes they depend on. As the years passed, she came to believe that creativity can cultivate empathy, and she gradually applied that insight to her own work. In doing so, she hopes her paintings encourage others to view the natural world with greater care. Even during the periods when life shifted her focus elsewhere, her artistic path remained present beneath the surface. While she devoted many years to family life, her practice paused; nevertheless, the creative spark never disappeared
Later, in her early senior years, a cancer diagnosis reshaped her perspective and inspired her to return to painting. With renewed purpose and gratitude for each brushstroke, she once again connected with the quiet strength she had always found in nature. Consequently, her tranquil works now reflect profound respect for animals and their habitats. Through thoughtful color choices and gentle movement, she creates scenes that invite viewers to pause and reflect. In keeping with the tradition of many nature and wildlife artists, she continues to share the beauty of our planet while encouraging its protection. Ultimately, her journey shows that creativity has no age limit and that it is never too late to learn, grow, and inspire others through the courage of beginning again.
